Pujols was really 'in the zone'. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 3rd inning, emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 46th of the season) in the 6th inning and doubled resulting in a run in the 8th inning. SSB provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning with 5 runs on 3 hits, the 6th inning when they had 5 runs on 6 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 4 hits. SSB managed 15 in their victory. Perez(12-7) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Eric Milton(6-17) took the loss. He was unable to control the SSB offense and allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings. When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Perez offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy this afternoon - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
